How to Make Turmeric Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 175°C (347°F) to ensure even baking.
Season the Sweet Potatoes: In a large bowl, combine the sweet potato cubes, turmeric, smoked paprika, oregano, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Toss well to coat the sweet potatoes evenly with the spices and oil.
Prepare the Baking Tray: Line a baking tray with a baking sheet and drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over it. Spread the oil evenly to prevent sticking.
Bake the Sweet Potatoes: Arrange the seasoned sweet potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking tray. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.
Serve and Enjoy: Once golden and slightly crispy, remove the sweet potatoes from the oven. Serve as a side dish, or pair them with your favourite dip for an easy and healthy snack.
Tips for Success
- Cut Evenly: Ensure your sweet potato cubes are uniform in size to cook evenly.
- Don’t Overcrowd: Spread the cubes out on the tray to allow for maximum crispiness.
- Customise Seasoning: Feel free to experiment with other spices like garlic powder or cumin for a unique twist.
Serving Ideas
- As a Side Dish: Pair with grilled chicken, fish, or halloumi burgers.
- With a Dip: Serve with hummus, avocado dip, or a simple yoghurt-based dip for added flavour.
- In a Salad: Toss with fresh greens, feta cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a hearty salad.
Storage Tips
- Refrigerator: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
- Freezer: Not recommended, as the texture of the sweet potatoes can become mushy when thawed.
